Founded in 2005, Flixn is a privately-held Florida corporation with offices in the Orlando, Florida and Spokane, Washington areas. Released to the public in September of 2006, the initial version of Flixn.com provided an intuitive video messaging solution to its patrons free-of-charge. One of the first communication tools of its kind, the site allowed instant recording and publishing of video from a webcam or similar peripheral without software installation. As well, this solution was available for integration into third-party sites through an exposed Application Programming Interface, servicing everything from small social networks to even universities and the e-learning community.
Beginning in mid-2007, the company pivoted toward the enterprise market with the conception of the Flixn Media Platform (FMP) and the Flixn Delivery Network (FDN). The idea: bring innovative multimedia technologies under one roof, providing easy management of content, fast deployment of feature-rich applications, and global distribution of creative assets for delivery to a wide audience. In effect, allow large organizations to quickly establish or expand their multimedia offerings without altering their development roadmap, realigning personnel, or dramatically impacting their budget.
